Honest Running Co

Honest Running Co is a global online community for runners of all levels. At HRC I manage and create resources for the community. This includes social media management, content marketing, lead generation, sponsor relations, and designing/sourcing team apparel.

Highlights:

- Created #NoCode global running community for runners everywhere
- Generated over 1000 email subscribers through our “running personality” quiz
- Designed and created all web presence, marketing collateral, social designs, and training programs/content
- Negotiated exclusive member perks (rotating) from partners and sponsors

Lead Generation Quiz.

Our “Runner Personality” quiz is very successful, generating over 1000 newsletter signups in less than a month. This quiz had zero marketing budget behind it (aside from the subscription to the quiz program itself) and continues to be a high traffic generator for the website. We shared the quiz in Facebook groups dedicated to running and on Pinterest with different cover images.

 

About.

I chose to build the website for Honest Running Co using Squarespace, as the design and functionality of the site itself is quite simple.

We are still deliberating which service to use for the online community. The deciding factor will be whether or not we want to allow members to create and sell their own services (running coaching) or to process all coaching transactions directly through the website and connect users separately. The later is more admin-heavy but may generate higher average transaction values.

  • I also build and maintain the online community for HRC. Which will be interesting since we are starting from the ground up.

  • The plan is to “bootstrap” the marketing budget as much as possible, using mostly free channels like Pinterest and Facebook groups, along with a combination of email marketing to our generated list, and content marketing through blogs/education.

  • I may explore Teachable by offering an “Intro to running” course there or through another online platform for more lead generation and to fund other aspects of the community (for example, the marketplace and hiring certified coaches).

  • This section will be updated upon the launch of HRC and as the community continues to develop.
